These are tough times — who wouldn't want to welcome a superhero or two into our midst?

Enter “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay,” Berkeley author Michael Chabon's story of two young misfits who find fame and fortune by creating comic-book superheroes.

It's this year's One Book One Marin pick, the annual readfest that envisions a county of readers carrying dog-eared copies of the same book, and drawn to discussing it with anyone and everyone.

Chabon himself is a bit of a superhero himself, at least in literary circles — jumping from a fantasy novel for young adults to a collection of essays on manhood — or so here reporter Jim Welte discovers in a chat with the Pulitzer Prize-winning author and father of four in this week's Covered.

So grab your copy, then let here know what you thought of the adventures. E-mail me at editor.here@gmail.com, drop me at line at here, P.O. Box 6150, Novato 94948, fax me at 415-883-5458 or just add your comments at www.marin-sonoma-here.com.
