SLOW FOOD. Small footprint. Portion size. Grass-fed beef. These are all buzz words that Louise Clow-Birkenseer has taken to heart. The Terra Linda resident and mother of two has brought her philosophy together under the one small roof of her newly opened Weezy's Grass Fed Shed.

With a couple of years under its belt, the Miracle Mile outpost of Cafe Gratitude appears to be thriving. No longer strictly raw and vegan, the restaurant has broadened its menu to include a hot soup of the day along with cooked burritos and tacos. A veggie burger with caramelized onions is also in the works.

It was one of those days: a little rain, a late-afternoon lunch meeting and a whole lot of traffic. Ironically, thanks to my neurotic preplanning, I wound up with some time to kill.
